Interest, fees and repayment
These are add-on/discount statutory charge formulas, not a simple nominal APR that should be dropped into an ordinary amortization calculator.
Under the cited Consumer Discount Company Act schedule, a licensee may use up to $9.50 per $100 per year when the contract is repayable within 48 months. For a longer contract, the first 48 months use that schedule and the remainder may use up to $6 per $100 per year. The Act also permits a service charge of $1.50 per $50 or fraction, capped at $150, subject to the Act.
Consumer Discount Company contracts may require equal weekly, semimonthly, monthly or other periodic installments. The Act generally requires installment contracts to use substantially equal periods and amounts, with an exception for irregular income.
